Becoming a Massage Therapist
The School of Body Therapies is licensed to convey a diploma in Therapeutic
Massage and Bodywork when 600 coursework hours are completed within a three year
period. Training from other institutions cannot be used toward this goal.
You design your diploma!
In addition to the 250-hour core program, over 1,000 hours in electives, accepted by the
Pennsylvania Department of Education, are available for students to choose from to complete their
remaining 350 hours of studies.
Diplomas are awarded when

Written examinations earn grades of 70% or higher

Attendance and clinical work is satisfactory

All tuition and fees are paid in full

A high school diploma or equivalent.

A personal interview with the School Director.

A completed, signed Enrollment agreement and payment of a $50 registration
fee.

Registrations are taken as received for the 250-hour course in Therapeutic
Massage & Bodywork.
The school reserves the right to refuse admission where advisable.
Physically challenged individuals are invited to apply, but motion or manual
dexterity-impaired persons cannot fill practical requirements.

Students withdrawing from a course up to five
calendar days after signing an Enrollment Agreement, but prior to the start of
class, will have all money refunded except for text fees.
Students withdrawing from or discontinuing a course before it is 50%
completed will have tuition refunded on a pro-rated basis.
Students withdrawing from or discontinuing a course that is more than 50%
completed are not entitled to a refund.
Students that are terminated will be given refunds as outlined above, based
on their last day of attendance.

Work missed due to excused absence or lateness may be made up through special
arrangement with the director or instructor.
Work missed due to unexcused absence my also be made up, but additional fees may
be incurred.

The school reserves the right to dismiss a
student without diploma for:

Failure to pay tuition

Excessive absence or lateness

Grades below 70% on written tests

Unsatisfactory clinical performance

Behavior that is inappropriate for a therapeutic learning environment

The school does not provide job placement services for its graduates.
Reference letters, however, will gladly be provided when requested by our alumni.
